Meet Colorama – Coloring with a kick

Not every coloring book is about zen gardens and inspirational quotes.

Some are about flipping the bird to stress—and that’s where Colorama comes in. The creative alter ego of Clair Webb, Colorama is anything but delicate. Her coloring books are bold, sarcastic, hilariously sweary, and unapologetically honest—designed for adults who need more than just “good vibes only” to unwind.

Clair never set out to be a typical artist. In fact, nothing about her work is typical. “Coloring is supposed to be fun, right? But somewhere along the way, it got a little too serious,” she says. “I wanted to bring back the fun, the loudness, the swear words—and maybe a bit of healthy rage.”

With a sharp sense of humor and a knack for pairing cheeky phrases with absurdly decorative patterns, Colorama’s books are equal parts stress relief and sass therapy. Whether you’re coloring out the chaos after a long day or gifting a brutally honest laugh to a friend, Clair’s work offers a cathartic release that feels rebellious, hilarious, and oddly soothing.

Q&A with Colorama

Q: What inspired you to start making coloring books?
“Honestly? I needed to laugh. I was tired of coloring books that whispered ‘breathe’ when I really wanted one that screamed, ‘I’m losing it and I need wine.’ I made the kind of book I wished existed—one that gets how messy adulthood is.”

Q: Why all the swearing and sarcasm?
“Because it’s real! Life isn’t always delicate flowers and gratitude lists. Sometimes you just want to scream into a pillow—or color something that says what you’re really thinking. I like giving people that outlet. It’s funny, it’s therapeutic, and no one has to know you just spent 30 minutes shading a page that says ‘Eff this day.’”

Q: Are there more books coming?
“Oh yeah. I’ve barely scratched the surface of what I want to say. I’ve got ideas for workplace rants, passive-aggressive affirmations, holiday meltdowns—you name it. There’s an endless supply of sarcasm and a world full of people who get it.”

Q: Who are your books for?
“Adults who are tired of pretending everything’s fine. People with dark humor, quick wit, and maybe a few unresolved feelings. My books are for anyone who laughs at inappropriate moments and doesn’t want to apologize for it.”

Q: What makes your coloring books stand out?
“They’re honest. They’re messy. They don’t try to fix you—they meet you where you are. Plus, they’re a hell of a lot of fun to color. You can be mad and still enjoy the page. You can laugh and still feel calm. It’s the best kind of contradiction.”

The Road Ahead

Colorama isn’t about playing it safe—and that’s exactly the point. As Clair Webb continues to expand her delightfully irreverent universe of coloring books, one thing is clear: she’s not here to coddle. She’s here to color the ugly, hilarious, exhausting parts of life with unapologetic flair.

So if you’re ready to ditch the pastels and color your chaos with a little more bite—Colorama’s got you covered.
