Meet Nadia – Building a creator-led future, one page at a time

At the heart of Printable Publishing is a simple belief: creators deserve more.

That belief comes from firsthand experience—because before she founded the platform, Nadia Øllgaard was a creator herself. A published author with multiple books printed and distributed through traditional retailers, Nadia has walked the long, winding road of self-publishing. And she’s felt its flaws up close.

“I tried Etsy. I tried Amazon. I even had books printed and stocked by real stores,” she recalls. “And while I was proud of the work, what shocked me most was how little ended up back in the hands of the people actually making the books.”

That realization, combined with her deep passion for creative learning, became the foundation of Printable Publishing—a place where creators earn fairly, grow freely, and build directly with their audience.

But Nadia’s journey wasn’t just professional—it was deeply personal. It began with a quiet observation of her son, Storm Lui, a curious and creatively driven child whose love for patterns, puzzles, and drawing opened a new door. “I saw how much joy he found in visual challenges,” she says. “And I wondered—what if there was a way to blend that joy with developmental tools?”

That question sparked the creation of her bestselling Pattern Sudoku and Drawing Sudoku books—unique hybrids designed to enhance both cognitive development and drawing skills. By blending logic puzzles with artistic prompts, Nadia created something truly special: books that build the brain and the imagination, all in one playful, printable format.

Q&A with Nadia Øllgaard

Q: What inspired you to create Printable Publishing?
“Years of frustration, really. As a creator, I did everything I was ‘supposed’ to—published, listed on major platforms, tried marketing myself—and yet I constantly saw the profit eaten up by middlemen. I wanted to flip that model. I wanted a space where creators came first.”

Q: How did your bestselling books come about?
“My son inspired them completely. He was always drawing, always recognizing patterns in the world around him. I wanted to support that through play. The Pattern Sudoku and Drawing Sudoku books were my answer—a way to nurture both creativity and cognitive growth in one experience.”

Q: Are more books coming?
“Yes. I’m always testing new ideas, especially with input from Storm. I believe in books that do more than entertain—they should empower, teach, and challenge. Right now, I’m working on expanding the Drawing Sudoku series for different age groups.”

Q: Who are your books for?
“Creative kids. Thoughtful parents. Educators who want to engage children with something meaningful. And anyone looking for an alternative to flashy screen time. These books are quiet, but they’re powerful.”

Q: What makes Printable Publishing different from other platforms?
“We don’t take the biggest cut—we take the smallest cut possible. We offer community, visibility, and real support to the artists and authors who make this space what it is. This isn’t about building another big marketplace. It’s about building a better one.”

The Road Ahead

Nadia Øllgaard isn’t just a founder—she’s a maker, a mother, and a visionary who’s quietly rewriting the rules of publishing. Through Printable Publishing, she’s creating a space where digital creators can earn fairly, grow sustainably, and connect directly with their audience.

And at the center of it all is the same spirit that sparked those first pages—a young boy named Storm, a handful of pencils, and a mother’s belief that creativity should always be nurtured, not undervalued.
